References to ornamentation in architecture, wallpaper and textile design appear throughout my work in which nature appears as highly stylized motifs. Historically, ornament and pattern in its association with domestic space and women was deemed “decorative arts,” minimizing in its importance. With this imagery I am interested in undermining modernist tropes which have not valued the creative work associated with domestic space and women. Additionally, the work calls into question our relationship with the natural world today.

Guiding the production of my work is an ongoing interest in embodied knowledge: memory, sensate experience and attention to intuitive knowing.

My artworks are in both private and public collections.
